Cage Suburbia – Argument #03

Following incredible 12″s by Honzo and Somec, Milan-based experimental electronic label Haunter Records closes 2015 with another mind-blowing vinyl release, this time by Cage Suburbia, a duo consisting of label co-founder Daniele Guerrini (Heith) and Matthias Girardi (Weightausend). The four tracks here are noisy, abrasive techno that flip the bird at the man; scuffed-up opener “Copkiller” samples the command “rob the bank, kill the guards” from the film Decoder (appropriately enough). “Black Ops” mutilates corroded jungle breaks, and the other two tracks contain fast, frantic, tension-filled beats. An excellent display of analog hardware techno as warfare.
