Not Waving – Human Capabilities

Posted by on March 27, 2014

With only a year and a half of operation under their belts, London-based label Emotional Response have already published material from important artists like Thimothy J. Fariplay, Luke Wyatt and Alan Hurst; undoubtedly, they have made an interesting bet with their roster, creating an audio pallet worthy of appreciation. Earlier this month they shared their tenth release, featuring no more and no less than an all new album by Alessio Natalizia (aka. Walls, Banjo or Freakout, and also the curator of Mutazione compilation) under his Not Waving alias. After publishing some single tracks, a debut LP and one outstanding cassette tape through his own label Ecstatic Recordings, the Italian musician now comes with a set of 9 electronic melodies entitled Human Capabilities, narrating an oblique story composed of many melodic figures, arpeggios, and deconstructed recordings audible behind innumerable synthesizer layers. Track by track, Natalizia situates us in various currents incorporating different atmospheres from both his previous and late recordings, combining the most essential details of his musical oeuvre.

Get a vinyl copy from Juno Records while they last, and keep your eyes glued to Emotional Response’s website for more details. You can also buy Not Waving’s last self-released cassette Volume 1 from Bandcamp, which was unveiled to the public last Friday via Boomkat, selling out in less than 24 hours.
