Virginia Trance – “Your Guru”

Scott Ryan Davis (formerly of Images and Psychic Ills) recently debuted a new solo project, Virginia Trance, with a self-released 7″ single, “Your Guru”. The record’s eponymous track is a loose-jointed, rambling expedition through mercurial guitar and lilting, Neil Young-esque vocals that are joined by steady bass and dynamic percussion, culminating in a hazy, slow-burning guitar solo. The b-side, “Something In the Air”, is a slightly lighter, groovier piece with expressive drumming, reverb-dipped vocals, and dewy guitar.
